Who We Are

By design, Markee & Associates is wired a bit differently as a manufacturer rep. We prefer to serve and focus on our clients rather than building monuments which is far to prevalent today.

We are on the smaller side than most foodservice reps. Much smaller. Again, by design we represent a limited number of manufacturers. We work with manufacturers who we want to represent and have a mutual fit and chemistry.  

We learn every manufacturer’s product completely. It is essential to spend pro-active time with them to represent them competently & well. No other way.

We guarantee each manufacturer that they will receive our full attention and that we will grow their business.

We are high-touch. Our focus is heavily on application-driven products, spec, design consultants, and end-users from all walks of bakery and foodservice. We are not a commodity rep.  

Markee and Associates represent privately-owned, independent manufacturers. They all offer an unique, high-quality products with real features, benefits, and especially differentiation. All our manufacturers  have a story of success based upon innovation. We like old school. We pride ourselves in knowing our manufacturer’s products inside & out.

We spend time in their training. We prospect, one of the essentials of being a good rep. Prospecting can never be a dying art form.

Markee and Associates like meeting new people. Especially those with new ideas who many times see things differently & are coming into their own in foodservice or bakery from all walks of life.

Simply, if we don’t have passion for a manufacturer, we do not represent them.

Our Philosophy – How We Think

In the end, selling is educating and teaching, making sure that as a rep you use your experience to offer best solutions.

Markee & Associates believe that any rep must have a real passion for their clients. They are the ones that matter. Our involvement is nothing unless we make things better for those who we serve.

We sometimes say that a sales rep must have a “heart-of-the-lion” for their client. Their needs always come first. This cannot be lip service. People can see right through you if it is. You must always operate with uncompromising integrity. Never putting a short-term sale or price above what is in your clients’ best interest. Being willing to say No when that is what should be said. Always putting into play experiences to present best options for the customer.

Foodservice & Bakery Solutions

Our representation competence in foodservice and bakery is really just a direct result of our professional associations over a number of years and our lifetimes spent in the “mass feeding industry”, to quote the 1960’s MAFSI terminology once shared with us by a very old wise rep. He also just happened to know every MAFSI president since 1948.

So, we have logged in our experiences, both pro and con, so that we are able to help others with their own foodservice & bakery equipment requirements.

People today ask many hard questions and need good, honest answers. We welcome that. They need solutions that make real sense. That work within a budget. And they must have trust in a rep.
